Who are we?

Fed up by complicated material made unreadable during an emergency, we built a practical website that's easy to access and understand during both quiet and panicked times. SharpeiFSF is an informational site maintained by a community of Shar Pei owners focused on providing information about the breed, its unique characteristics and a terrible, little-known affliction: FSF. The site's creator, Stephan Tual, is one of the many who lost his bundle of joy to Familiar Shar Pei Fever. This misunderstood disorder can have terrible and permanent consequences.

But before going further, please read our disclaimer carefully, and remember this is a collaborative document. We welcome contributions, corrections and suggestions.

Because there is currently no screening test available for what is a hereditary disorder, it is your responsibility as a Shar Pei owner to familiarize yourself with this condition. These cute wrinkles do come at a cost.

Because this site is intended to raise awareness, note that, unlike most websites, it contains written graphic content that some viewers might find upsetting. We have done our best to not include images unless absolutely required. Yet, a 'softly softly' approach to the disorder can be more frustrating than functional when things turn sour. We want to help you save your "Pei".

We are 100% non-profit and have no sponsor, ads, or collaboration of any kind. In the future, we hope to create a foundation with transparent accounting to help raise awareness.
